CLASSIC GAMES: Grand Theft Auto [1997]

Grand Theft Auto (GTA) is a computer and video game created by Scottish company,
DMA Design (now Rockstar North) and published by ASC Games in 1997/1998.
The game allows the player to take on the role of a criminal who can roam freely around a city.
Various missions are set for completion, such as bank robberies, assassinations, and other crimes.

The game that started it all...Grand theft Auto is a classic in it's own right.
At first play, I was impressed by the "bird's eye view" of the city.
IMO, it made the game seem more treacherous and challenging.

Still to this day, I enjoy the original GTA.

HAD A SPARK WHEN U STARTED...Sega: Dreamcast [1999-2001]

In 1997, the Saturn was struggling in North America, and Sega of America president
Bernie Stolar pressed for Sega's Japanese headquarters to develop a new platform
which eventually became the Dreamcast.

At the 1997 E3, Stolar made public his opinion on the Saturn with his comment:
"The Saturn is not our future" and referred to the doomed console as "the stillbirth".

Wow.

And the Sega Saturn actually had a longer run![1994-98]

How uber ironic is that? Lolz.

I bought a Dreamcast for only one reason, and that was at a chance to play Resident Evil: Code Veronica.

Oh, plus Shenmue and PowerStone. And let's not forget Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Or Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike.
Those are my favs still to this very day.

I remember staying up late playing RE:CV and Shenmue, like there was no tomorrow.
The Dreamcast served me well in those times.

Now, my Dreamcast is but a mere doorstop/paperweight.

Thank You Sega, for giving up.

Alas.

REVIVING THE GENRE: Saw [2004]

Saw is a 2004 horror film, and the first installment of the Saw film series.

The plot is focused on two men who find themselves locked in a disused bathroom with
instructions for one to kill the other, or he and his family will be killed in turn.
The characters attempt to escape while the police investigate and attempt to capture
the criminal responsible, the "Jigsaw Killer".

The first Saw, is probably one of the better horror movies I've seen in a while. This movie was
like a breath of fresh air compared to all of the mediocracy that I've faced in the 2K Era.

It was well-written, acted with a convincing cast, and contained a moody atmosphere that made
the viewer feel like they were part of the scenery.

A must-see.

DOPE ALBUMS: Rage Against The Machine [1992]

I like Rage Against the Machine's style of music: Political.

Their debut album, self-titled, is still to this day, off the hook.
That is by far my favorite album by the group... The band has it's own distinctive sound
and Zack de la Rocha vocals/lyrics set them apart from anyone else.

I mean, just listen to the raw energy of the song, "Killing In The Name"

Killing in the name of!

Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses
Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses
Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses
Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses
Huh!

Killing in the name of!
Killing in the name of

And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya

Those who died are justified, for wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites
You justify those that died by wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites
Those who died are justified, for wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites
You justify those that died by wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites

Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses

Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses
Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses

Uggh!

Motherfucker!
Uggh!

Dope.

WORST VIDEO GAME MOVIES EVER: House Of The Dead [2003]

A group of teens wants to reach an island where a rave is being held. They pay a smuggling ship-owner, Kirk, to take them to the island despite the fact that he is being pursued by the police. Once they arrive at the rave they find no-one.

It is only later that they realize that zombies have attacked the rave and killed everyone.
The zombies also seize Kirk's boat preventing the teens from escaping the island.Teaming up with Kirk's nemesis, Jordan Casper, and arming themselves with Kirk's smuggled goods they attempt to fortify themselves in an old house in the middle of the island.

What. The. Hell. Does. That. Have. To. Do. With. The. Actual. Game?
A question I asked myself only once after viewing the first 2 minutes of the movie.

The game is called: House of The Dead.

Not:
Boat Of The Dead
Rave Of The Dead

Island Of The Dead
Or
An Old House In The Middle Of The Island Dead

I could not get into this film what-so-ever.

I didn't even bother to finish it.

BEST 80'S CARTOON EVER: The Transformers Gen 1 & 2 [1984-87]

The Transformers, is the original Transformers franchise which took the United States by storm in 1984.

It is what most people older than 23 or so think of when they hear "Transformers".

They were definitely ahead of it's time, spitting dialogue, and character development not even seen in most popular sitcoms today. What made The Transformers so special is that you cared about them... From Rodimus Prime doubting himself as being "The One" to Starscream's mutiny against his own tyrannical leader, Megatron.

Of both sides, I'd have to agree that the Decepticons were more interesting... They were like one huge dysfunctional family and made the show memorial and amusing.
